This morning as I was getting Sophia dressed for the day she was very matter of fact with me..."I going to have a baby in MY belly when I grow up." "What kind of baby are you going to have?" I asked. "Baby Ruben...with pretty clothes," she replied, and then added, "and, a pretty face."
Usually the pretty clothes and face indicates a girl for Sophie. She was disappointed that our new baby is another boy, but after much thought she said it was okay if he had pretty clothes. I'm almost sure she thinks the clothes make the girl...literally - as in, if we put that new baby boy in some pretty pink pjs BAM!, POOF!, a girl! I'll let her figure things out for herself when her new brother finally arrives.
I know Sophia will love this Baby Four just as she would have loved a new sister, but chances are he will grow up with embarrassing stories to share about his big sister dressing him in "pretty clothes".

Oh my... I will pray for your next child's safety and sanity.
I suppose that you could make the name Reuben "work" for a girl LOL. I would discourage the dressing a boy like a girl... that happened to mark when he was little... and you see what happened with him... :)
Yeah, we already have a "Ruben" in the family...spelled like it sounds rather than the good ol' fashion bible way -(For shame, Moncia!!!) =)
We're still working on the name for Baby Four...
I like to be weird and name the kids according to what God is doing in our lives at the timing of the baby's birth...then, when you say their names you are in a way recounting God's working in our lives. Weird...but I love it!
Isaac is our promise and laughter.
Sophia is wisdom.
Jack means God is gracious.
And, Baby Four is to be determined.
And, as for Mark and "pretty clothes"...bigger sisters rule! I did the same with my little brother. It was an orange dress with black polka-dots. Michael looked really pretty as a girl back then. Now that he's six foot four I don't think he would look as pretty in a dress.
LOL! Unfotunately mark doesn't have any older sisters... it was my mom and aunt! LOL!!!!
To spell it "Ruben" was Tim's idea so he could remember how to spell it.
